Shopify POS

Browse open draft orders at POS and take payment in person.

The POS extension brings your open draft orders to the register. A customer who received an invoice online can walk into your store and settle it in person, and staff can start a sale from any open draft without retyping line items.

Setting up the tile

  1. On your POS device, open the smart grid editor (Add tile).
  2. Add the Draft Orders tile from GOAT Draft Order Invoices.

Staff tap the tile to open the app's modal.

Using it at the register

  1. Tap the Draft Orders tile. The modal lists your store's open draft orders with their name, customer email, total, and date.
  2. Tap a draft order to see its line items.
  3. Add the draft's items to the POS cart. Items with a matching product variant are added as normal cart lines; custom items and price overrides are added as custom sale lines at the draft's price.
  4. Take payment through the standard POS checkout.

Good to know

  • The modal shows open draft orders (invoiced but unpaid), most recent first.
  • Because payment happens through POS checkout rather than the emailed invoice link, complete or clean up the original draft order afterwards so it doesn't remain open. This keeps the customer's open invoice list accurate and stops any scheduled payment reminders.
  • The POS extension uses the same secure app backend as the admin, authenticated with the POS session, so no extra login is needed.
